Designer Jing He examines Zuiderzee crafts from the viewpoint of her Chinese heritage. Crafts, she discovers, often develop through cross-pollination with other cultures and crafts. Her rocking-horse is made from an inverted cradle that was woven by the museum's basket-maker. It incorporates Chinese and Dutch techniques and shapes. Jing He's designs get us thinking about the fusion of cultures, and about how complex borders are. A great deal is intertwined.

This film was made within the context of the exhibition Studio ZZM from 29 June 2017 to 6 May 2018 in Zuiderzee Museum.
