Intrigued by the historical Van der Kamp Washhouse at the Zuiderzee Museum, master students of Design Academy Eindhoven developed a washing service for white linen. Such a service ensures not only collection and delivery, but also the traditional, high quality washing involving ‘crafty’ steps such as ‘field bleaching’ and ultramarine pigmentation. Traditional values of washing are returned to the Enkhuizen community and projected into the future as a new form of luxury.
