Sail Rope Square Chair

Designer Martino Gamper has a background as a furniture maker. In collaboration with the Zuiderzee Museum’s artisans, he created a chair that showcases everything associated with the Zuiderzee Museum. Gamper chose materials that the artisans work with every day, such as wood, sailcloth, rope and rattan. During their exchange of technical knowledge and the shared search for solutions, the trio explored the boundaries of the craft. This film was made within the context of the exhibition Studio ZZM from 1 April 2017 to 6 May 2018 in Zuiderzee Museum.
